After an initial fitting (usually done 2-3 months prior to the wedding date) a final fitting is done on the date of collection, Collection date is the Thursday the week of the event.

On collection we recommend a final fitting in store, to confirm sizes and alterations are correct. For weekend hires, items are due for return on Monday by 12pm.

  • Monday-Friday we are open 9-5 and no appointment is necessary.
  • Saturday-Sunday we prefer Wedding parties book an appointment, this gives them a priority spot for fitting rooms.
    • Saturday: 9am-3pm
    • Sunday: 11am-3pm

A $7 damage waiver fee is charged with every hire, Penguins Formalwear agrees to waive claims against customers to the value of $55, resulting from unintentional damage during the hire period. Any damages exceeding $55 shall be the responsibility of the hirer. This agreement does not cover intentional damage, loss or theft. Level of destruction is to be determined by Penguins Formalwear.

Yes, we hire a shoe selection and also offer matching belts to compliment your shoe choice.

Alterations are done to the trouser length only. Jacket hire has 3 lengths short, regular and long fitting therefore no alterations are needed.

A hire suit starts at the price of $140 this includes jacket, trouser and tie. Business shirts are available for hire at an additional $10.
